In Business | Hilldale is welcoming dogs and their owners for three upcoming evenings of pup-friendly activities to benefit the Dane County Humane Society.

The first Yappy Hour, which will take place on Aug. 17 from 5–7 p.m., is themed the “Dog Days of Summer” and will feature kiddie pools and a splash pad for dogs on The Green as well as a “pup crawl” for treats by Petphoria. There will also be caricature artists on site to draw people and their pets.

Several stores and restaurants will offer activities and special deals, including free Klarbrunn sparkling water samples and mutt-tinis at Petphoria; free pup-cups at Blended; “pupcakes” at Gigi’s Cupcakes; 15% off and a free dog charm with a purchase at Kendra Scott; 10% off for dogs and people at Paper Source; 20% off pet-friendly plants at Wildwood; and Pooch-inis at the Pup Patio Party at Shake Shack. The first 50 attendees to register and donate to Dane County Humane Society will receive a swag bag at the event.

The two additional October Yappy Hour events, taking place Sept. 21 and Oct. 19, will also feature the “pup crawl,” caricature artists, and discounts, as well as many other offerings to be announced in the coming weeks.
