Madison’s Black Friday shoppers seek holiday cheer, eclectic crafts at Makers Market sites

Wisconsin State Journal |… At Madison’s Hilldale shopping center, Black Friday was business as usual, according to general manager Nanci Horn. Planning for Friday morning’s holiday shopping kickoff began around six months ago, she said, with more than 100 employees coming together to bring the “cabin up north” feel to life on the plaza.

From the outdoor heaters to the miniature curling rink, Horn said the scenery really does make the difference, giving customers a fun visual experience as they pop in and out of stores and restaurants.

“My favorite part is just seeing the look on people’s faces and seeing family shopping together,” she said. “It’s great to be a part of making that happen for folks.”
