With this collaboration, Lush wants customers to make a sea change to help save the home of their favorite fictional sponge—whether they’re taking their first step away from pump hand-soaps, or whether they feel motivated to move their full routine over to plastic-free alternatives. Paramount’s SpongeBob SquarePants kicked off ‘Operation Sea Change’ last year, which makes them the perfect partner to have some nautical nonsense and good clean fun.

Lush has pioneered the packaging-free beauty category over the last three decades with inventions like the bath bomb and shampoo bar, which are now mainstream. Since 2005, Lush has avoided 13,800 tons of plastic from being produced and discarded from the sale of their solid, package-free soap, shampoo, and conditioner bars. This is the equivalent of all the plastic trash produced by 130,000 people in the US for a whole year.
