🎷 Golpe Tierra performing June 20
The irresistible acoustic groove of Golpe Tierra bases its sound on the philosophy that, when we come together in music and dance to “beat the earth,” we are truly celebrating the act of community. Nick Moran, Juan Tomas Martinez, Tony Barba, and Richard Hildner make up this guerrilla-style ensemble, employing the traditional Afro-Peruvian guitar-bass-cajón set-up. The group embarks on a musical journey throughout Latin-America, flirting with blues, jazz, and shades of soul. This uniquely-presented original and traditional music is sure to get you out of your seat to dance!
🎻 Faux Fawn performing July 18
Midwestern Chamber Folk Music
Faux Fawn is a self-described “Midwestern chamber folk” band based in Madison. The group was originally billed as “Paul Otteson and Faux Fawn” a nod to its frontman, a well-known Madison singer-songwriter. Faux Fawn brings to the stage a lyrical prowess with seasoned arrangements wrapped in a cloak of beautiful harmony.
🎸 Mr. Chair performing August 22
Contemporary Fusion Ensemble
Based in Madison and winner of the 2021 Wisconsin Area Music Industry Award for Best Jazz Artist, Mr. Chair brings a truly unique performance to every stage they play. As classically-trained musicians well-versed in jazz, electronics, prog rock, world music and beyond, Mr. Chair is a contemporary fusion ensemble for music fans of all backgrounds. Their sound palette is diverse, and used to tell stories in styles cinematic, surreal, romantic, funky, and whimsical.
